After taking over this historic property in 2022, we’ve worked to preserve its original charm while introducing modern comfort and sustainable energy solutions.

Cascina Cipressa is located on the top of the Montalto hill, nearby San Romano. Montalto has a long history, dating back in medieval times when Castello Di Montalto belonged to San Miniato. The old scutcheon can still be found in the history museum of San Miniato. The strategic position of the castle made it also the battlefield of the ‘Battle of San Romano’ between Florenese and Sienese forces in 1432, beautifully depicted in 3 paintings of Uccello. In more recent times, it was used as a farm and later also as an agriturismo. In 2022, the agriturismo underwent a thorough restoration under new ownership, blending modern comfort with the timeless charm of its historic roots.
